"Winners never quit. And quitters never win."
Cricket, from the moment of being born, has always loved attention. He's always wanted attention to circulate him, and only him. He gets easily jealous if someone he may be talking to turns their attention elsewhere, and these instances cause bouts of uncontrollable anger to rise up in the tomcat. He is very unstable in his own virtues and worth, and he needs to be constantly approved by others in all that he is doing. Cricket is social by this nature, keeping himself surrounded by others and having some freak-outs when he is alone. Cricket can't be along for long, otherwise he will start to stress himself out and act out, not in the most reasonable, or safe, way. He is not a bad cat to be around in general, it is just hard to be around him for a long time. Cricket is impossibly clingy, and as soon as some cat shows genuine interest in his outward friendliness, he seems to turn the tables as he becomes clingy and needy, always looking for affirmation and wanting to know if what he did was "right." Deprived of a lot of attention from both of his parents, Cricket has grown to try and find that affection elsewhere. But something about Cricket is that he doesn't notice he's being annoying. He is forever persistent, and he will continue to pursue a cat's attentions until their patience has run out. And when this anger and impatience is directed towards him, Cricket gets defensive and overly angry. He won't stand a cat telling him what he's doing wrong, he only ever accepts to hear what he's doing right. Which leaves not really much room for development, and he keeps repeating his same mistakes over and over again.
While Cricket goes around seeking these affirmations, it doesn't seem on the outside like he actually needs them. Cricket puts on a facade of arrogance and pride in himself to protect himself from his insecurities and mental issues. He refuses help and constructive criticism, and will sometimes go into phases where he will cave in on himself and become an emotionless stone, trying hard to keep everything inside, and find what he needs from outside sources.
Cricket is an outwardly friendly face, and upon running into him, he might seem like a nice cat to get to know. But his clingy-ness quickly shows through, and he becomes a cat that no one wants to be near, because they don't want to be the one responsible when he blows up and destroys everything in his path. Cricket is unstable, but he won't ever let anybody tell him that.
